  1. I finally got around to watching Old Henry. I missed it when it first hit streaming. When I went to watch it, it had left that service so I had to wait until it reappeared elsewhere. Tim Blake Nelson is a great character actor and this movie was a great surprise. I really like his role in The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, but I had no idea what this movie was about.

When I saw the name McCarty it did click with me because I had read a biography of Billy the Kid, but I wasn't really sure until he was asked about the trouble in Lincoln County, New Mexico. That's when I put it together and was all-in on this movie. The biggest clue that this was no ordinary farmer was when Stephen Dorff remarked that he doesn't act like a farmer.

This cast was great, they all played their parts very well. Stephen Dorff was excellent here playing a role very similar to his role on the canceled series "Deputy". Trace Adkins was also used very well here as he is not the best actor. I've seen him in a few movies, mostly B-movies where he is very wooden. And thankfully, the kid wasn't annoying like the kid in Shane!
