Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid (1973)

Pax and Michael cover another Peckinpah. Will they love it or hate it? Listen to find out!

  1. Pekinpah movies pretty much do not have heroes in the usual sense. The main characters are all flawed, often fail themselves, and seem to struggle at times with their challenges and whatever is driving them since most of them appear to be driven one way or another.

And I think one of the main ways my view of westerns part ways with yours (and Pax) is my dislike of the Young Guns movies. Especially the sociopathic take on Billy the Kid taken by Estevez. This might also be that my upbringing with westerns was the older John Wayne and Clint Eastwood films of the early 70s.
