Buck and the Preacher (1972)
Michael and Pax welcome back Evan Hanson to talk about Sidney Poitier's directorial debut, Buck and the Preacher, starring himself as well as Harry Belafonte and Ruby Dee.
This movie has been on my list for a long time. I've only seen a few of Sydney Poitier's older films. The one I've seen most is Duel at Diablo, which is a movie I loved.
This had fewer gunfights than I expected but it was a really good film, particularly the relationship between Buck and the Preacher. I thought Cameron Mitchell as the lead villain was great, although, I'm surprised he died so quickly and wasn't involved in the final battle.
