Michael and Pax watch Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor, and Joel Edgerton in Gavin O'Connor's film about a woman defending her home from a gang of ruthless killers.
Pax also talks about Yul Brynner and George Segal in Invitation to a Gunfighter (1964), while Michael watches more Zorro and reads the collected webcomic High Moon by David Gallaher and Steve Ellis.
Invitation to a Gunfighter
ReplyDeleteI caught this recently and recorded it because of Yul Brynner. This was an interesting movie. It wasn't as good as I expected, but this was a good western. I moslty only know Yul Brynner from The Magnificent Seven, Westworld and The King and I. So, I've been wanting to watch more that he's been in. I didn't care that much for the Sabata films as I'm not that big a fan of the spanish "spaghetti" westerns. I did enjoy the drama Morituri and of course the John Wayne film Cast a Giant Shadow.
Jane Got A Gun
This was a decent western with a good solid cast. Natalie Portman was very good, as always. Joel Edgerton and Ewan McGregor are great in many movies. I've been finding these smaller movies that are very good but, got very little promotion that are very good movies. Recently, I watched one with Ethan Hawke called In a Valley of Violence.
