The Mask of Zorro (1998)
Pax and Michael welcome back Evan Hanson to talk about the first movie of a Zorro double-feature on Hellbent. It's Martin Campbell's The Mask of Zorro, starring Antonio Banderas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Anthony Hopkins.
I saw this movie in theaters. I remember seeing The Mark of Zorro with Tyrone Power, when I was watching a lot of swashbuckling films, mostly those of Errol Flynn. But also Tyrone Power, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., and others. Later, I tracked down and watched Zorro: The Gay Blade with George Hamilton. This one was pretty funny. I really enjoyed this Zorro and the cast was excellent, especially L. Q. Jones who've I've seen in a lot of movies, War and Western films. I'm a fan of Billy Zane, and I do own The Phantom! It's cheesy, but a really fun movie. Just like The Rocketeer!
I did see the sequel movie, I think I saw it in theater, and I recall it was a disappointment from the first film. I do own it on Blu-Ray in a two for one pack with the first one. Haven't ever seen it more than once.
