¡Three Amigos! (1986)

There's a lot of laughing and quoting in this episode when Pax and Michael talk about the 1986 Western comedy starring Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, and Martin Short.

Also: quick reviews of Gone Are the Days (2018), The Ballad of Lefty Brown (2017), and the comic book The Undertaker, Volume 3: “The Ogre of Camp Sutter” by Ralph Myer and Xavier Dorison.

  1. El Guapo (Alfonso Arau) also has a minor role in "The Wild Bunch".

I watched "Three Amigos" again recently and some of the bits work better than others. Chevy Chase's "smug" wears on one quickly and Martin&Martin do better. I think you are right in that who you are watching it with does make a big difference. (Plus I think you enjoy campier things, especially westerns, more than I do.)

  2. I'm a big fan of Lance Henriksen and Tom Berenger so I'll check out Gone Are the Days. Also, I've heard The Ballad of Lefty Brown was highly acclaimed, and I like Bill Pullman, so I'll have to prioritize watching this one!

I love Three Amigos! I don't recall when I first saw this, possibly in theater, but I've seen this many times since. I still quote lines from this films today. Particularly the "Plethora" line!
Of the three actors, the one I liked most was Martin Short, with Chevy Chase being the least.
I'm a fan of Brian Thompson and have seen him in a lot of movies and TV. I still remember him as the punk who gets his clothes stolen by The Terminator!
