Sabata (1969)

In this episode Pax and Michael delve back into the world of spaghetti westerns with the Lee Van Cleef vehicle, Sabata, about a supernaturally accurate gun for hire and the crazy cast of characters he meets on the job.

Also discussed: Gregory Peck in The Bravados, Matt Wagner and Francesco Francavilla's Zorro, and Robert Conrad and Ross Martin in The Wild Wild West.

  1. "Fistful of Dynamite" is not a farce/circus western. Much more serious in themes, but with some lighter moments.

  2. The Bravados - I really enjoyed this movie! I'm a big fan of Gregory Peck and quite a while ago I watched this one and Yellow Sky when TCM did a Gregory Peck Mini-Marathon. Both movies were great. Yellow Sky is a departure with Peck being a bank robber on the run.

Sabata - I am a fan of Lee Van Cleef, but not so much of this franchise. I binged all three Sabata movies awhile back and watched them in sequence. The Spaghetti Westerns are not my favorite, but they are interesting so I do check them if they have someone I like in the cast. The music is great even if the movies aren't the greatest.
